For those new to the VA and have not seen the other threads about how the ladder works this thread will give you a basic answer for how this works.
Please note this ladder is only for official VA Watcher and Turtle Raids. The Rift still has its own ladder, and Helegrod does not use a ladder.
The ladder is a continous list of participating members for the VA Watcher and Turtle Raids. You are added to the ladder the first time you come. You are free to come as often or as little as you want. You are never penalized for not coming as you never loose your spot and do not move up or down when you do not come. You remain in the same spot.
What happens for the Raid is that the 12 people that make the particular run take ***coins/First age items in what ever order they are on the ladder. But when one person takes a item, each person moves up to the next person's spot on the ladder that is in the raid, then the one that took the item goes to the bottom person's spot that came on the raid, not necessarily the bottom of the overall ladder. Sounds confusing, but it really isn't. Let me show you with an example.
For the small example, lets say we only have 10 people on the ladder. Person "A" is spot #1, person "B" is #2, and so on. Lets say our raid only had 4 people go. Person "D" (ladder spot #4), Person "E" (ladder spot #5), Person G (ladder spot #7), and Person I (ladder spot #9).
So the order for the raid would be this.
1. D (overall ladder spot 4)
2. E (overall ladder spot 5)
3. G (overall ladder spot 7)
4 I (overall ladder spot 9)
For each item you go in order. D gets to take or pass the item. If D passes, E then takes or passes, etc. For the example lets say E takes an item. E now goes down to I's spot, and everyone else below E moves up. So the new raid order would look like this:
1. D (overall ladder spot 4)
2. G (overall ladder spot 5)
3. I (overall ladder spot 7)
4. E (overall ladder spot 9)
When E took a item, E took I's spot, so on the ladder E is actually spot 9, and did not go to the bottom of the ladder (Spot 10 in this example). Notice I jumped from 9 to 7, and G jumped from 7 to 5. D did not move as E was below D.
So when you come on a Raid for the first time you start out where ever the bottom is. If the next lowest person in your Raid that came was for example spot 20, when somone above you in the Raid took an item, you would go from the bottom spot to 20 on the overall ladder. At the same time if the next lowest person was just one spot above you, then you would just move up one spot. You do not move up a "numbered" amount of spots when an item is taken. You simply move up to the next spot from the person right above you in your raid, no matter how many spots that is.
If you have further questions please IM Jeanna and I can explain it further.
